So, one of the things I was most excited about when taking the leap to go full time with my business was making the time/having the time to invest in my own development. To be a student again and to work on my craft. When I first started out six years ago, I did this more frequently and then life happened and that got harder to do. So I was beyond excited to attend the two-day Walk Through a Wedding Workshop last month led by the generous and knowledgable dynamic husband and wife team of Justin and Mary Marantz.
And it was sooooo good! Not only was it pretty and styled and indulgent (they kicked things off with a three course meal and drinks at their home), but it was packed full and overflowing with information. I really signed up for the portion on lighting, and that was awesome, but it was so much more than that. It was a chance to reflect and learn about all aspects of my business. It was a great chance to get reenergized, to explore where I want my business and my photography to go next, and to remember why I love being a wedding photographer. The days were seriously 12 hours long because they were so filled with solid and valuable content. And of course, we took photos! So here are some of my favorites from the two days. And if you're a photographer looking to up your game - definitely check out Justin and Mary's workshop - it is very much worth the investment and then some!
And enjoy a couple behind the scenes shots at the end! We had an awesome group of inspiring and passionate women in our session.
