Anne and Asher celebrated their wedding at Camp Spofford, a New Hampshire camp on the edge of Lake Spofford that they also both work at, so it held a particularly special meaning to both of them. Anne is my second cousin and when we were little we’d see each other a couple of times a year on major holidays like the Fourth of July and Easter. As we got older, our families saw less of each other and in the blink of an eye it had been about 15 years since I last saw Anne and her family. So it was an incredibly special honor when she reached out and asked me to photograph her wedding. The day was extra special because I got to reconnect with Anne and her siblings and parents and document their beautiful family now that we’ve all grown up. Needless to say, my heart was bursting the whole day and it felt so so good to bear witness to the start of Anne and Asher’s marriage.

Getting Ready

Anne got ready at her parent’s home. The farm house sits on a beautiful piece of land and is full of character and charm, not to mention memories of Anne’s childhood. I love that she was able to get ready in a spot so meaningful to her. The lilacs that made up the bouquets and centerpieces for the wedding were largely harvested right from her parents property and then completed by the talented The Village Blooms – another lovely meaningful tie-in that made the day so special. Asher got ready with his friends and family at the home he shared with a few close friends, making his time getting ready a special one as well.

Ceremony

The ceremony was held at their church and was full of special touches as well. Asher’s little sister was the flower girl, Anne’s sister Joanna played the piano, and four relatives each did readings before Anne and Asher literally tied the knot! Well, not a knot per say, but they did include a lovely braiding ritual in their ceremony that represented their marriage and their commitment to God. Their faith is central in their lives and their relationship and so it was also central in their wedding day. The ceremony was capped off by their sweet first kiss – it was so obvious that they were SO EXCITED to marry each other – loved it! XO

Portraits & Reception

Camp Spofford sits right on Spofford Lake and the grounds made for the perfect backdrop for portraits. Their family and friends were wonderful and had a great time relaxing and snuggling for photos together. The ladies teal dresses were perfect for showing off the gorgeous lilac blooms after some fun bridal party photos, Anne and Asher snuggled up together for couples portraits. They were so emotive and happy and they kept leaning into each other, locking eyes, touching foreheads, and just taking each other in. Their joy was palpable.

Then they went inside to get their party started! And they had my heart with their cheese wheel cake! Seriously. A cheese wheel cake that they then cut hunks out of and served to guests along with the desserts! It was amazing! Dinner and dancing and some sweet speeches by the MOH and BM capped off a perfect day.
