The Villa At Ridder Country Club Spring Wedding - Lauren & Andy

Lynne Reznick

The Villa at Ridder Country Club Spring Wedding Bride and Groom Portraits East Bridgewater MA

On a temperate spring day earlier this month, Lauren and Andy tied the knot at The Villa At Ridder Country Club. They were in the Grand Ballroom for their reception and played up the modern feel of the room with geometric glass terrariums full of flowers and crystals on the tables and a unique blue wedding cake with gold geometric accents. And Spring was definitely in the air as well in the stunning pastel florals by The Tangled Web. It was a beautiful day, but more than that, it was a day full of people wearing their hearts on their sleeves. From Lauren fighting back happy tears as she read the sweet note Andy sent to her before they saw each other, to Andy welling up during the ceremony as he said his vows, to the hugs, kisses, and laughter of their wedding party as they supported Lauren and Andy and celebrated along with them throughout the day, their wedding showed just how much these two love each other, love their friends and family, and inspire love in those around them.

Their Love Story

Lauren & Andy both went to Northeastern and are both engineers, but funny enough, they didn’t actually meet in college. Instead, they met after they graduated through mutual friends. As Andy’s former roommate, who officiated the ceremony, shared with everyone when he married them, their first date was the result of a mutual attraction and a bet that Andy rigged in the best possible way. Andy liked Lauren and wanted to find a way to hang out with her again so he made a bet about something having to do with their fantasy football league (side note - Lauren is a Cowboys fan - woohoo!). Andy cleverly made the terms of the bet result in them seeing each other again - no matter who won. If Lauren won, he would buy her dinner and if he won, she'd get him dinner. Either way, he was promised a date with her as a result. Needless to say, at that dinner they totally hit it off and the rest is history!

Andy proposed at home on the night of a big storm that actually knocked the power out in their neighborhood. Lauren had an eventful drive home from work, having to get rerouted multiple times because of downed trees. And when she did arrive home, Andy had taken full advantage of the power being out, to light candles throughout the house. Now looking back, they say the storm and the power outage helped make the intimate proposal even more romantic.

Getting Ready

While Andy and the guys prepped fully at the hotel, Lauren and the ladies had hair and makeup done by C King Brides there before heading to The Villa to get into their dresses. Lauren had her jewelry, shoes, and a full invitation suite set aside and ready for me when I arrived so I could style them and photograph them. This is a tip I always give my couples so that they can honor the special pieces that make up their day. My second photographer headed to Andy and did the same with his details, styling his tie, shoes, socks, and boutonnière before he put them on. Lauren is so thoughtful and she was hands-on helping her bridesmaids lace and tie their beautiful Lulu’s dresses before getting into her own gown from David’s Bridal. She also got each groomsman a pair of socks with his favorite football team on them! One other tradition captured toward the end of the getting ready process was their exchange of notes and gifts. These shots are always some of my favorite from getting ready because they prompt all of the emotions of the bride and groom to the surface.

First Look & Portraits At The Villa

Lauren & Andy really wanted to enjoy every possible moment with loved ones on their wedding day so they decided to do a first look and take all of their formal portraits before the ceremony. The reveal was so special to witness as they went in for a hug and kiss and then stepped back to take each other in. Andy even asked Lauren to spin so he could get a 360 degree view of her. She was a vision in her dress and Andy was quite the dapper groom. After some couples portraits we brought their bridal party into the mix for photos before ending with family portraits. The weather looked a little iffy, but the overcast skies never opened up and we did all of their photos outside on the grounds of The Villa. One of my favorite moments from family portraits happened when Andy’s Mémère and Pépère had their photos taken with him and Lauren. Before heading inside to prep for the ceremony, Andy’s Mem wrapped him up in a big hug and didn’t want to let him go. She couldn’t believe he was so grown up and getting married. It was adorable and reminded me of my own Mem and Pep.

Outdoor Ceremony

As I mentioned earlier, Andy’s former roommate and good friend officiated the ceremony. In addition to telling the story of how they ended up on their first date, he did a wonderful job sharing about who Lauren and Andy are and why they’re such a perfect pair. He has everyone laughing at points and many people tearing up (including the groom - it was so sweet!) with his thoughtful stories and the personal touch he put on the ceremony.

Dinner & Dancing

After the ceremony the party moved inside to the Grand Ballroom for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. Their modern wedding cake was created by Montilio’s. The cake design incorporated the geode design they had on their invitations and that each bridesmaid wore around her neck. For their centerpieces they had beautiful glass terrariums of different geometric shapes and sizes filled with spring blooms. They had the talented band Closing Time keeping the dance floor packed and everyone had a blast dancing the night away.

Spring Saphire Estate Wedding ~ Lilah & Kyle

Lynne Reznick

Spring Saphire Estate Wedding

Spring at Saphire Estate is such a beautiful time! Lilah & Kyle incorporated a spring feel with lots of soft pastel colors in their wedding day color palette. These two are so cute together - they laugh often and are goofy and fun and they both wear their emotions on their sleeves. They were most excited about throwing a fun party so they could celebrate their marriage with the people they love.

Marriott Hotel | Bride & Groom Getting Ready

Lilah had some special surprises for her bridesmaids at the hotel. She gifted them all with robes to wear throughout getting ready and planned a special photo where she gave each of the ladies a small chalk board and had them write how they knew Lilah on it. Then they all piled onto the bed for a photo together, holding up their boards. It was a sweet way to see how people from every part of her life, from her sister, to her grade school friends, to her college besties each first connected with Lilah. And with hair and makeup done on site the girls felt pampered and looked beautiful. Not to be outdone, Kyle brought his barber to the hotel for all of the guys to get fresh cuts! And as a testament to how truly thoughtful and fun these two are, Lilah and Kyle both popped champagne and toasted their friends and family before leaving to tie the knot. The day was all about their love and that included the love and support they felt from friends and family and they each made a point of celebrating that love and support throughout the day.

Saphire Estate | Wedding Ceremony

I told you these two both wear their hearts on their sleeves and there isn't a more perfect example of this than their wedding ceremony at Saphire Estate. Kyle had the most genuine and emotional reaction I've ever witnessed from a groom as he saw Lilah for the first. He immediately teared up as she walked arm-in-arm down the aisle with her father. Lilah's cousin was the officiant and he shared warm wishes and words of love and encouragement from both Kyle and Lilah's parents throughout an incredibly heartfelt and personalized ceremony. He had both bride and groom, as well as most of the guests welling up with happy tears time and again as he shared about how special Lilah and Kyle are as individuals, how well they fit together as a couple, and how strong their love is.

Saphire | Spring Wedding Portraits

Lilah was so excited to tie in pastels for her spring wedding and the ladies dresses in different pastel colors were exactly what she envisioned. Seeing them together Lilah was so excited and happy - it was wonderful to see her vision come to life and how delighted it made her! Saphire Estate really allows couples to maximize their options in a small and convenient area for portraits. It's situated directly across from a lake and they have a small private section of beach that is perfect for portraits. They also have the sweetest path through the property for gorgeous photos in the woods and the building itself, crisp white and stately, makes for a beautiful backdrop. It was a cold spring evening so we warmed up after the ceremony by going inside for family portraits and then Lilah and Kyle braved the cool evening air for their couple's portraits. It was the perfect excuse for them to snuggle up close together and we were able to create some beautiful portraits of them in just a few minutes and then get them back into the warmth of their reception!

Wedding Reception At Saphire Estate

They added some really fun and personal touches to the reception with table numbers created by hand that each featured different childhood photos. They asked their guests to sign a piece of wall art as their guest book. And they opted for cupcakes that matched their wedding colors and came in a variety of flavors instead of one traditional cake. Then the party really began as toasts were given and they had their first dance. Throughout it all, their love for family and friends shone through. They set a table with photos to honor loved ones who had passed and had a special moment for Lilah's cousin Becca, who she was very close to and who passed away a few years ago. Lilah holds an annual event to celebrate her cousin's life and the family has a scholarship fund set up in Becca's name as well. So it was perfectly fitting that Lilah and Kyle remembered her, as Becca was undoubtedly smiling down on them throughout the day.

Lilah and Kyle are the real deal and I was honored to capture their wedding day love story. Congratulations to you both - I can't wait to see what amazing things the future holds for you two as Mr and Mrs! XO

Megan & Ralph - newport marriott wedding

Lynne Reznick

Megan and Ralph are a classic example of opposites attract. As Megan shared with me when I first met her and asked about their love story and their wedding, Ralph is gregarious and outgoing and has a large network of friends. Megan calls herself more of an introvert who is more of a quiet person and credits Ralph with getting her to come out of her shell. These two have so much love and respect for each other. They used words like "authentic" and "unconditional" to describe their love. They are also both really laid back and wanted to make sure their guests had one incredible time at their wedding. And they most certainly did!

The nautical theme for their decor fit perfectly with their Spring wedding in Newport and guests couldn't help but get up and dance with the abundance of boas, big crazy sunglasses, and glowing necklaces available to make the dance floor one great party!

Megan shared this just before the big day - talk about focusing on what is most important: "We are most excited to be able to share our love with the people that we are closest with.... family and friends. We want everyone to enjoy themselves and let loose. The ceremony will be beautiful because it will unite us husband and wife. Then we want to be able to celebrate our love at the reception and enjoy our time with all the people that we love. Although the decor and decorations will be beautiful, we know that the important part of the day is that we get to marry each other while being surrounded by the love and support of those closest to us."

Congratulations you two! XO
