Fall Wedding at Belle Haven Club - Joanne & Scott

Lynne Reznick

Fall Wedding at Belle Haven Club Bride and Groom First Look

Joanne and Scott held their fall wedding at Belle Haven Club last month. They had one of those rare perfect fall days where the air is crisp but the sun shines through the clouds a bit and warms everyone up perfectly. Their wedding included so many of my favorite things because it was all about the love they share and the new family they were becoming. It was an intimate affair with 75 family members and close friends in attendance. There was no bridal except for Scott’s three daughters and Joanne’s niece, ages 6-10, who served as flower girls in the perfect cream dresses with bows, flower crowns, and sparkly shoes. Scott and Joanne gave each of them a silver heart necklace to wear on the day. They were vibrant, silly, and happy little girls and they made for the sweetest little bridal party you’ve ever seen. Scott’s oldest in particular was so attentive to Joanne – she carried her train in between photos and after the ceremony to ensure it didn’t get dirty.

Joanne’s father passed away a couple years ago and it was important to honor him and feel him near her throughout the day. So she wore a charm bracelet that he gave her in remembrance. He was a pilot and each of the three plane charms on the bracelet represented planes he flew during his career. I love that she decided to wear it and keep him close in that way throughout the day.

Joannes and the ladies had their hair and makeup done by Beauty Entourage and then her mom and sister-in-law helped her get into her Augusta Jones dress that she got from Kleinfelds. They each took turns almost crying and valiantly holding back happy tears to avoid smearing their makeup! Joanne then had help from the flower girls in putting her shoes on before heading out to see Scott.

First Look on the Docks at Belle Haven

Joanne and Scott opted for a first look so that they could spend every second of their cocktail hour with their guests. Joanne loved that Belle Haven is right on the water, so we did their first look and formal portraits with the girls down on the docks. She and Scott both instantly relaxed and cracked huge grins when they saw each other for the first time. They hugged each other and kissed each other and drank each other in. And then we brought the girls down for portraits as well. Joanne and the girls carried simple and elegant bouquets by Green of Greenwich.

Belle Haven Ceremony on the Lawn

The ceremony was lovely with the flower girls walking in pairs down the aisle before Joanne was escorted by her Mom. Joanne was so excited as she held onto her mom’s arm that a huge grin came across her face as she waved to all of the guests on her way to marry Scott. Like the rest of the day, the ceremony was full of moments of laughter, smiles, and Joanne and Scott catching each other’s eyes often. Oh, and the view was pretty spectacular too!

Belle Haven Reception - Cocktails on the Patio & Dinner and Dancing

Wedding days always fly by, so I love that they went for the first look and savored every moment with each other and their friends and family. Their cocktail hour was outside on the patio right next to the water. They had a jazz duo playing music throughout the hour and they noshed on all the amazing apps passed before dinner. It was laid back and relaxed and so fun to see both of them get excited every time one of their guests came up to congratulate them for the first time.

Joanne was so thoughtful about every detail. She had a monogram that incorporated a nautical knot designed and it was placed on the invitations by Social Alchemy, the menus, the favors, and the cake by Black Forest Pastry Shop. The floral centerpieces were lovely and the whole room glowed with the bistro lights she had strung across the ceiling to add intimacy and warmth to the room. Dinner and dancing took place upstairs at Belle Haven and the night allowed for all the doors to stay wide open, welcoming in a breeze and letting guests flow out onto the patio to relax and chat or dance inside to the music provided by the amazing band. And let me tell you – Joanne has some serious dance moves! She was busting a move for most of the evening on the dance floor! At the end of the night, they guests lingered on the patio as they didn’t want to celebration to end. The newlyweds exited in style, waving goodbye to their guests as they snuggled up together on a boat that whisked them off into the night. How’s that for a magical ending to a perfect day?!

Classic Fall Stamford Yacht Club Wedding - Kristie & Andrew

Lynne Reznick

Classic Fall Stanford Yacht Club Wedding on the Water

Before the wedding bells and before their first dance to "The Real Thing" by Zac Brown Band at their Stamford Yacht Club wedding, Kristie and Andrew met in college at a physical therapy clinic they were both working at. They were friendly but didn't end up getting together until four years later when they reconnected. Kristie was working with Andrews sisters at the time and Andrew asked Kristie out on a date. They've been together ever since! The best way for me to describe these two is thoughtful and kind. They went out of their way to make family and friends feel special and loved on their wedding day and it was obvious that kindness and generosity guide them in their everyday lives as well.

Getting Ready: Honoring Family

Kristie and Andrew bought a home together in the year prior to getting married - talk about a big year! A home and a wedding! And Kristie got ready in their new shared home. Such a special thing to be able to prepare to marry your soulmate in the home you share together. She had an amazing team for hair and makeup with hair by Kim West and makeup by Sue Berkoff. And she found her stunning gown by Kelly Faetanini at A Little Something White in Darien, CT. She had it altered to add the lace sleeves in honor of her mom, who wore lace sleeves on her wedding dress years before. It was a beautiful way to remember her mom. She also wore an heirloom hair comb and they got their wedding bands from Betteridge Jewelers. Andrew and his Dad wore custom navy suits from Suitsupply that had special messages stitched under the collars. Andrew also gifted socks from Sock Club to each of his groomsman and they were a fun pop of design and color. Andrew got ready with his groomsmen and his Dad and Kristie had her sisters and sisters-in-law, as well as her best friend, by her side as she got ready.

Ceremony at Our Lady of Star The Sea Church

They held the ceremony at Andrew's family church: Our Lady Star of the Sea. It was particularly special because the priest that married Andrew and Kristie had known Andrew since he was a kid and was able to speak personally about the journey Andrew has taken so far, and now how the two of them are embarking on a journey through life and of faith together.

Portraits: Water Views and Sunset Skies

After the ceremony we dashed off for portraits at the family home right on the beach. The sunset was AMAZING and the calm waters and cotton candy skies made for a chilly! but beautiful backdrop for photos. The rich cranberry and navy tones popped against the sunset skies and the florals from Brewster Flower Garden were stunning. We then zipped over to the Stamford Yacht Club to catch the rest of the light as the sun was setting. It was a chilly 34 degrees by the time we finished portraits but Kristie and Andrew were troopers and snuggled a lot to keep each other warm :) And the photos come out amazing! I'll brave the cold with a totally in love couple any day of the week!

Reception: Wine Bottles, Hats, and Donuts (and dancing, of course!)

Andrew and Kristie were so thoughtful about the special touches they incorporated into their wedding. they love their community and wanted to keep vendors as local as possible. So they had local whiskey in their signature drinks and artisanal donuts from their favorite local bakery for dessert, along with their cake. And yes, I was BEYOND excited about the donuts. And Kristie knew I had a love for them - so she made sure I tried one. And they were AH-MAZING! They also both enjoy wine so they asked their guests to write well wishes and love notes on wine bottles, each labeled with a milestone anniversary. Now, as they celebrate their first anniversary, and their fifth, and their tenth, and their twenty-fifth anniversary, they'll share the bottle of wine designated for that anniversary and read the messages left by loved ones on their wedding day. I can't tell you how much I love this idea! I think I'm going to steal it when Scott and I renew our vows in a few years.

Andrew's Dad has a thing for hats. He told everyone that he has a thing for hats during his toast to the couple, and he proceeded to whip out a baseball cap with their custom wedding monogram logo (created by Andrew's mom!) on it. Now, this was adorable, but as it turns out, Andrew's dad wanted everyone to share in his love of hats and his love and Andrew and Kristie - so e had enough made for all of the wedding guests and they were put out for people to grab and wear throughout the evening! And the hats made their way onto the dance floor as people danced the night away to music from Dance To The Music Entertainment.

Steph & Dain ~ Boston Harbor Cruise Wedding

Lynne Reznick

Steph and Dain have a classic Boston story for how they met - it happened one evening outside of Fenway. And it happened to be after the Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z concert - so they knew they had something in common from the very beginning. Since then they have moved to North Carolina, but they came back to Boston (where it all began) to tie the knot!

Steph and Dain have two doggies who are their family - Ben and Hattie. And although the pups couldn't be present on the day of the wedding, they were there in spirit sitting right on the amazing wedding cake! Steph and Dain poured so much love into every aspect of their wedding day - they had gorgeous weather and lovely nautical details mixed with fresh blooms for summer. Their love was obvious and strong and the many happy tears cried throughout the day accentuated the friendship and deep connection they share. It was such an honor to be there to capture their love story. Congratulations you two! XO
