Getting Ready

This past October I had the pleasure of second shooting a beautiful Maine wedding at The Stone Barn. It was a crisp fall day with my talented friend Kendra of K. Engel Photography. I started with Kendra at the house where M was getting ready. M had personalized flannel shirts made for each of her girls so they could stay cozy throughout the getting-ready process in the morning. They were so cute! Then, when it was time to get into dresses, the two little flower girls stole the show. As M was just starting to put her dress on, I headed to meet S for portraits of him with the guys. S was ready to go when I arrived and was so eager (and a tiny bit nervous) to see M. It was really sweet to see him pacing a bit in between cracking jokes with the guys. But he lit up when he opened the card and gift M sent along and then we did a round of portraits with him and the groomsmen before heading to the ceremony.

Ceremony

The ceremony was held outside at The Stone Barn at Sebago Lake amidst pops of color from the fall foliage and the perfect fall bouquets that the ladies held. They decided to have an unplugged ceremony – which I always suggest to my couples – and it was beautiful. Because of going unplugged, all eyes were up and focused on the love being shared. I also loved the teeny tiny suit the ring bearer wore – how cute is he?! M was glowing as she held tight to her Dad’s arm and walked with him toward her soulmate waiting at the head of the aisle. M and S were so excited and happy to see each other – the joy was palpable from the minute they first locked eyes. They smiled through the entire ceremony, even through happy tears and nerves as they took turns sharing vows they’d written for each other. Family and friends looked on and cheered and clapped as they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.

Portraits At The Stone Barn

After the ceremony we took photos with the wedding party right on the grounds at The Stone Barn. The venue is nestled in trees that were ablaze in fall colors that encapsulated the vibrancy of the day perfectly. The wedding party was made up of a great crew of friends and family. They kept the laughter up as they hugged and shared their joy with M and S. Then the bridesmaids and groomsmen headed to cocktail hour while and Kendra and I snuck away for a private portraits on the water with M and S.

Couples Portraits on Sebago Lake In Maine

The Stone Barn sits right next to Sebago Lake. So, Kendra and I headed off for some lakeside couples portraits with M and S before heading back to their reception. The skies were threatening rain, but it never fell. Instead, the clouds brought drama and dimension to their portraits! After that, dinner was served under the tent and the best man gave his speech. He was followed by the two maids of honor. They had everyone laughing and crying in turn as they shared memories of M and S and toasted to the amazing love these two share. Thank you for having me along for the lovely day Kendra! Congrats again M & S! XO
