So here is some happy news: My friend Lauren wrote a cookbook called Fresh Made Simple. Then she found a talented artist and had the whole thing illustrated. And now you can own a lovely cookbook full of 76 recipes and beautiful art! Lauren was incredibly thoughtful when creating these recipes and crafting this book. She tried lots of different variations to get the perfect combinations that would taste just right, she focused on fresh ingredients and simple preparations that make cooking a breeze, and she made sure to cook with her daughter all along the way in roder to ensure they were recipes that kids could help with. And I mean truly help with, not do what I did when I was little, which was basically throw flour around the kitchen and lick the batter off the beaters when my mom had finished cleaning up the mess I made! Because the recipes are illustrated, even young children can help "read" the recipes. I have had the pleasure of photographing and then trying her food - and trust me - the food is delicious!! I can personally attest to the guacamole being awesome, the parfaits being super fresh and tasty, and the creation of trail mix being the most adorable thing I have ever witnessed! I am so proud of and happy for Lauren. This book is gorgeous and thoughtful and bursting with great ideas! XO
Her book hits the shelves in October, but you can pre-order it and find a ton of great foodie tips on Lauren's website - go over there (go on!) and then come back here and see some of the fun we had photographing Lauren, her adorable daughter, and her amazing food!
